On April 5, 2018, some of the top lawyers from across the
state came together to celebrate Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s “Leaders in the Law”.
Consumer lawyer Dani K. Liblang of the Liblang Law Firm, PC, in Birmingham,
Michigan, was one of only 30 lawyers and judges honored for their work in the
field.
Michigan Lawyers Weekly Names 2018 Class of Leaders in the Law
Earlier this year, Michigan
Lawyers Weekly announced this year’s class of “Leaders in the Law”. These30
lawyers, including two judges, had been identified by their peers for making
outstanding contributions to the practice of law in Michigan. They are examples
for other lawyers across the state and generously share their expertise within
the industry.
This is the 10th year of the program, highlighting
lawyers who have:
- “Significant accomplishments or achievements in the law practice.
- Outstanding contributions to the practice of law in Michigan.
- Leadership in improving the justice system in Michigan.
- Seeking improvements to the legal community and their communities at large.
- Setting an example for other lawyers.”
While the honorees were named in February, they were invited
to a luncheon on April 5, 2018, at the Detroit Marriott Troy. The lawyers honored
then voted in secret to name the one “Lawyer
of the Year”. The winner, Hon. Dorene S. Allen of the Midland County
Probate & Juvenile Court was announced at the luncheon honoring all 30 of
the “Leaders in the Law”.
Dani K. Liblang Honored as a Leader in the Law
Consumer protection and lemon law lawyer Dani K. Liblang was
among the 30 top lawyers honored at the luncheon. The program described her by
saying:
“Liblang focuses on consumer and lemon law. In January 2017 she was asked by ICLE to present on trends in consumer auto transactions and she has also been a speaker at the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) No-Fault Institute. Liblang is a member of MAJ and the National Association of Consumer Advocates, which presented her the ‘Consumer Hero Award.’”
Dani K. Liblang is a consumer protection
and lemon law
attorney at The Liblang Law Firm, PC, in Birmingham, Michigan. With over 35
years of professional experience, she is known to her peers as an expert in her
field. In addition to the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) and
the MAJ, Dani has also spoken for the National Association of Consumer
Advocates and the National Consumer Law Center. Her cases have been featured on
WDIV TV and in the Detroit Free Press, Jalopnik, and the Huffington Post. Dani is
also a frequent guest on local radio and television shows, where she provides professional
legal insight to the public.
The program also made space for Liblang to give the honor a
personal touch. When asked what practicing law means to her, personally and
professionally, Dani said:
“I’m very fortunate in being able to have my own firm, surrounding myself with people I love working with, practicing in areas of law that I am passionate about, and last but not least, being able to bring my dog to work.”
She also wrote about the “perfect storm” in 2009, when
General Motors and Chrysler both filed for bankruptcy. She explained how that
caused The Liblang Law Firm, PC, to broaden its focus beyond lemon law to include
consumer protection law. It is now a core part of the work Dani Liblang does
for Michigan residents.
Being named among the 2018 Class of “Leaders in the Law” is
one of the highest peer-rated honors available to lawyers in the state. This is
the first time Dani Liblang has been recognized in this way, and she is
flattered by the recognition.
